When the fascia on a gable end of a roof does not wrap the corner the end is mitered.
Whether you want a double gable roof with 6 pyramid shaped dormers or a simple gambrel roof the basics remain the same.
Sloped edges on a roof sketch line create a sloped roof.
In the image below you can see that the roof now has a gable end.
The means that revit will not slope the roof up at this point hence a gable end will be formed.
We can also see that there is triangular gap left in the gable wall.
Revit roof slope can seem complicated at first glance but by learning a few critical features you can create any roof shape you desire.

Use sloped edges or a slope arrow on a roof to create sloped roof elements.
When using a newer software release you may notice.
You can specify the mitering option.
Go ahead and hit the green tick to remake the roof.
Add point or split line if better suited creates points at intersections place your new points as required.
Your downpipe elbows should automatically generate via the revit autorouting.
Use a slope arrow to define the slope.
Define a sloped edge to a sketch line.
Change the slope angle of the roof.
