I ve just started my very first revit project and am already pulling my hair out i had a search but cant find my answer.
Revit add roof plan.
Sketch the new roof on top of the existing roof.
Go to the new level for the roof under floor plans on the project browser.
Floor plan reflected ceiling plan structural plan in the new plan dialog.
Add another view to your project or duplicate an existing view.
In the properties dialog box for the view you want to see the overhang lines in set the underlay drop down to be the level on which the roof was created.
1 st floor no overhang.
Click the roof button on the build menu on the home ribbon and sketch the roof footprint.
3d view of roof begin by opening the plan view in which you want to see the roof line overhang as a hidden line.
Use join unjoin roof tool.
The roof is outlined by magenta lines with magenta triangles on the outside of the line.
Then follow these 2 steps.
Click view tab create panel plan views drop down and then click.
The triangles are the slope annotations which by default are 9 inch rise to 12 inch run.
9 join roofs add opening to create dormer.
To create a dormer model required walls and additional roof.
For type select a view type from the list or click edit type to modify an existing view type or create a new view type.
I have linked in an architects drawing into an mechanical template in my project browser i have only got floor plans ceiling plans and elevations i need to add a roof plan so that i can put together a.
This tool is located in the modify tab.
Use it to extend the dormer roof to the main roof.
