Replace 1 Piece Of Vinyl Siding

Using the zip tool lock the piece of siding above the new piece down.

Replace 1 piece of vinyl siding.

Near the old nail holes every 16 or so hammer 1 1 4 roofing nails into the new piece of siding to hold it in place. If you only remove one piece you might be able to cover the area with a tarp to protect it until you replace the piece. Remove a piece of the nailing strip and on the back to allow for expansion and contraction. Starting at one end of the damaged piece push the end of the zip siding removal tool up under the siding until you feel it hook the bottom lip.

To lock the final piece in place use a zip tool. Measure the area you uncovered so you know what size replacement piece you need. The vinyl siding zip tool will save you loads of time. Tom uses a zip tool to reinstall vinyl siding which can be found at the local home center.
