Remove Reappearing Carpet Stains

In most instances wicking will occur with carpet that is damp for a long period of time. The leftover residue becomes sticky over time. When you properly rinse a browned out stain with an acid rinse it should take care of the problem. This is caused by the residue from the cleaning solution used to remove the vomit stain being left on the carpet which causes dirt to stick to the area.

What is the difference between soiling and wicking. There are two possible reasons carpeting and rugs can be cleaned after a spill appear to be fine and then have the stain reappear later. A reappearing stain called wicking may get removed from the surface with traditional cleaning methods but not from the carpeting or upholstery padding underneath.
