As the melted body wax hardens it sticks to the carpet nap.
Remove melted wax from carpet.
Place a brown paper bag or card stock over the wax stain and keep a towel nearby to protect the rest of the carpet.
Turn the iron onto a warm not hot setting with the steam turned off.
Repeat until the wax is gone you may have to hold the iron in place for up to 30 seconds.
A hair dryer set to the hottest setting can also be used to remove wax from carpet.
Dampen a white cotton towel fold it in half and place it over the wax.
Rub gently to melt and remove some of the wax and then reposition the bag to soak up more wax.
Take immediate action to clean up the wax spill.
Lay the plastic bag directly onto the area of your carpet with the wax stain.
Bag of ice or an ice pack iron a hair dryer can work in a pinch paper towel terry cloth towel or brown paper bag.
Fill a plastic bag with ice.
To remove wax from carpet you ll need the following on hand.
You may think the mess is permanent and impossible to clean up but you can remove the body wax from the carpet.
Run the warm iron over the cloth until the wax melts.
Remove the ice and using a butter knife or the bowl of a plastic spoon gently scrape the wax from the carpet.
Seal the bag and put it over the wax for several minutes.
Remove the plastic bag and begin to scrape the wax off the carpet using a dull knife.
Place enough ice cubes in a ziploc bag to completely cover the wax stain.
To make wax easier to remove you can cool it down with an ice cube.
Once the wax is melted it will stick to the bag or towel.
Heat an iron to a medium setting with no steam and press the iron to the paper bag directly over the wax.
Let the wax freeze for a few minutes.
The heat will draw the wax out of the carpet and into the towel.
If you cannot react immediately you can still clean up the mess after the wax solidifies.
