Cleaning soap out of a carpet is a tedious task that unfortunately offers no short cuts.
Remove liquid soap from carpet.
Cover the area that has the laundry detergent embedded in it with the hot water.
This will absorb much of the remaining shampoo.
It cleans the carpet thoroughly continue doing so until you are sure that the whole carpet is washed thoroughly and all the dirt and the residue have been removed next dry it naturally.
Yes the spill will be plenty wet with soap but you will need to wet it with water to fully clean up the spill.
Next use a paper towel to blot the area.

Apply pressure as you are scraping to remove as much of the shampoo as possible.
Then use a wet dry vacuum cleaner to clean up excess water from the carpet.
Scoop up as much of the liquid laundry detergent as you can from the top of the carpet fibers.
At this point there should be minimal amounts of soap shampoo left in the carpet.
After you have vacuumed the excess water the carpet fibers will still be wet.
The white vinegar in place of the shampoo helps in removing both the dirt and also the soap residue present in the carpet.
Continue blotting using fresh paper towels as needed until they no longer absorb any moisture.
