Scrap the spot to remove any tangible dry paint. Blot the stain with dry paper towels to clean up any excess wet paint sitting on top of the carpet. Admittedly it was a lot of work getting all the old stains including the dried paint out of my carpet. Blot the affected area using a clean cloth to pick up all the dried paint lifted through scrapping.

Using a soft brush scrub the place to remove as much paint as you can. It took most of a day to do one room but a lot of that involved waiting for products to do their job or waiting for the carpet to dry. Dry blot the stain.
