The blood parrot is compatible as they are another cichlid like the oscar and can hold their own. These fish are rather active and need ample room to swim.

It would be cool to have a community tank full of other fish. These fishes are not found in the wild we don t know exactly what kind of fishes are compatible with blood parrot cichlids. For every additional blood parrot cichlid you add increase the volume of the tank by about 10 gallons. At the same time the blood red parrot is passive enough to not stress an oscar and will give it space in the fish tank.

By looking at their records of compatibility of fishes we found they can be kept with dwarf gourami angelfish kribensis tiger barb emperor tetras and firemouth cichlid. Of course larger tanks are always welcome. Blood parrot tank mates are definitely a possibility but you must choose the right fish to co exist with your blood parrot. I don t want them to fight but get along.

It s a 55 gallon aquarium. Most people will say blood parrots are aggressive fish and as much as that might be true you can still house other fish with them.
